It's Not Always Easy

It's Settlement Day!

An exciting day for anyone in the world of Real Estate! Sellers are closing a chapter on their former homes. Buyers are preparing to make a new start in a new space. And Realtors, like me, are closing the chapter on a deal that took weeks, months, sometimes years in the making.

This particular transaction had many ups and downs for me as well as provided me with lots of opportunities to learn and grow. A former rental home, the house needed some serious TLC before hitting the market. This was almost solely tasked to me as my seller was living in another state. Not impossible, but certainly stretched my normal levels of responsibilities. After coordinating a design consultation complete with paint, carpet, and lighting selections, I secured an amazing contracting partner to do the work and get my seller's home picture perfect -- Thanks Stonebridge Builders, LLC!

Once under contract, I was thrilled to be able to share the other side of this transaction with a true professional. While this was our first time working together, I sincerely hope it will not be our last. Her style was responsive, firm, and fair; all qualities that I bring on behalf of my clients every time -- and the precise way a parent of a former student once described my teaching style.

From a settlement delay due to buyer’s travel schedule, to installing a radon mitigation system, to navigating a day-before-closing leak in the house (oh my!), all parties still made it to glorious settlement day with big smiles and eagerness.

Once again, nothing usual or typical with this job which is some of the reason why I enjoy what I do so very much. Each day, each home, each client, and process are a bit different providing tremendous excitement and fulfillment with just the right amount of exhaustion!
